WHAT:             Lawsuit challenging ballot qualifications for Florida Supreme Court Justices Lewis, Pariente and Quince, Bernard Long and Veronico L. “Ron” Flores v. Kenneth Detzner, R. Fred Lewis, Barbara J. Pariente, and Peggy A. Quince, Case No. 2012 CA 001980.  First hearing in case – on Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss the Amended Complaint with Prejudice and Motion for Protective Order.

NOTE:              Judge Lewis has named this a “high-profile case.”  The Aug. 8 hearing is the first courtroom proceeding in this case.  Judge Lewis will hear arguments from Shannon Goessling (Southeastern Legal Foundation executive director and chief legal counsel) and Tallahassee attorney Eric Haug, representing the plaintiffs, and counsel for Justices Lewis, Pariente, and Quince.
